5 facts about The Old Fort!
5. We are truly a Mom & Pop shop, Kyla and I are the proud parents of two handsome little boys
4. Sometimes people stop me to tell me how they have been to The Old Fort, saying its this fort or that fort, and I never correct them because that means we have achieved the aesthetic we were going for
3. That being said, The Old Fort is actually a place, it's named after Old Fort St John. Kyla and I met in Fort St John and started our family and this brand together there. It's much more than a place to us.
2. While we occasionally find ourselves lumped in with outdoor brands that's not what we set out to be. We started in 2013 as a general store to sell Canadian Made goods, but struggled to find what we were looking for and started making those things ourselves. We hope to bring a great variety of products to you guys again soon.
And last but not least;
1. We are obsessed with cabins! Anytime we go on vacation we try to stay in a cabin, and that is where we found our aesthetic, life at the cabin. We are also really into the idea of "hygge" pronounced hue-guh. A Danish and Norwegian word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out , ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special.
