It is important to get between 212 and 5 hours of physical activity per week as an adult. It does not have to be difficult and can be incorporated into everyday activities such as going to school, work, or the store. Other ways to get active include having fun with the kids, taking part in sports, walking the dog, swimming, cycling, and dancing. To stay active, choose an appropriate time, join a local sport, recreation, or fitness club, or meet a friend for a walk or a bike ride. Small changes to your daily routine, such as walking part of the way to a destination, can also contribute to the goal.
