It transports me to a place in my heart that allows me to return to my spiritual traditions.

Today is Red Dress Day. It is a day to remember and remind the general public and powers that be of the over 4000 missing, murdered and Exploited Indigenous Women. They are all someone's child, aunt, mother and even Kookum. It is seriously sad how little is done to locate these women (including the 2SLGBTQQIA+) in comparison to non indigenous individuals.

I am not sure if people reflect on how many of these individuals have touched your lives, but I know I can identify 2, who are in my heart always, and many more who I have been an acquaintance of.

Please take this day to reflect on them, and all of the missing.

Please show you are honouring them by wearing red today. Show your love.

I have been so blessed to spend the last 5 days in Ottawa with the fantastic and inspiring leaders and members of Women of the Metis Nation, Les Femme Michif Otipemisiwak.

My cup has running over and my heart is full. I have also been honoured to be asked by three Elders and one Knowledge Keeper to make them new skirts. I can't wait.

I was twice lucky last night. I was honored to be invited to watch Allie Parry be celebrated as an Indigenous Graduate with St. Albert Public School in the ribbon skirt she asked me to make. Not only did Allie look beautiful, she performed perfectly and the celebration was filled with love and respect.
