Pocket diapers are incredibly popular, and plenty of families love them.
So why, after 35 years, don’t we make one?
Because we don’t believe a pocket is the best way to build a leak-resistant diaper.
It comes down to something surprisingly simple: shape.
Stuffing absorbency into a pocket can create a convex surface through the crotch (think hill). Our diapers are designed to create more of a concave absorbent area (think bowl) helping keep liquid toward the absorbent center rather than encouraging it toward the leg openings.
Could we make a pocket diaper? Absolutely.
But making something simply because it’s popular has never been how we design diapers.
The full (very nerdy 🤓) explanation is on our blog.
