This month, we’re sharing the story of one well-travelled espresso machine. ☕

Its journey started at Country Gift & Thrift in Gap, PA and ended at Care & Share Thrift Shop in Mountain Lake, MN. But how did it get there, and why?

Subscribe to our monthly thrift newsletter to find out. The story lands in inboxes October 29 by 3 p.m. ET. 💌

Plus, subscribers across the U.S. and Canada are automatically entered each month for a chance to win a $50 MCC Thrift gift card and retro MCC Thrift stickers.

"One of my main reasons for being here is knowing what the funds go towards, and that they help with MCC projects." — Olwen Pritchard

For more than three decades, Olwen has volunteered at the Bluffton Et Cetera Shop, supporting a mission that combines compassion, sustainability and community care.

Every donated item, every purchase and every volunteer hour helps create impact. Thank you to Olwen and all our MCC Thrift volunteers who help make that possible every day.

Thrifted finds don't always have to be used for their original purpose.
This rack could display plates or records, but it works just as well for colouring books. 🎨
We want to hear your ideas: how would you use this find?

🌏 Every purchase supports the relief, development and peace work of MCC around the globe.

A truck loaded with humanitarian supplies traveled from the Netherlands to Ukraine, where MCC partners will distribute essential items to people affected by war and displacement.

From hygiene supplies and blankets to canned food, this assistance will help meet the needs of approximately 24,000 people, including families who have been forced to leave their homes.

🤝Every donation, purchase and volunteer hour at MCC Thrift helps support local and global projects through MCC. Thank you for turning secondhand goods into meaningful impact around the world.

Some days, making a difference looks big.

Most days, it looks small.

Donating a bag of clothes. Shopping secondhand. Giving items a second life. ♻️

Simple actions add up.

Thanks for helping MCC Thrift turn everyday choices into community impact.

✂️🧵 Make and Mend Market is coming and we have the BEST people joining us!

On Saturday, October 3rd (10am–2pm) at Village Green MCC Thrift (60 33rd St E, Saskatoon), we're hosting a free drop-in event celebrating creativity, sustainability, and the joy of giving things a second life.

We are so grateful to two incredible community partners who are giving their time and talents to make this happen:

📓 Kate Kading will be demonstrating the art of junk journaling -- a creative, tactile way to turn scraps, ephemera, and thrifted treasures into something beautiful. Come watch, ask questions, and maybe start your own!
🪡 Volunteers from Saskatoon Makerspace are bringing their skills to our basic mending station -- teaching practical clothing repair that will save your favourite pieces and keep them out of the landfill. We are truly honoured to have this talented community alongside us.

Two stations. Zero cost. All are welcome.

✂️ Junk Journals with Kate Kading
🪡 Basic Mending with Saskatoon Makerspace volunteers

No registration needed; just drop in anytime between 10am and 2pm.

Thank you, Kate. Thank you, . You make our community richer. 💛
