Assemble your teams! The Quill & Relic is hosting our first annual read-a-thon with all proceeds going to support Cowichan Women Against Violence (CWAVS). On June 27th, teams will read for 7 consecutive hours, competing against each other to read the most pages. The winner will receive a gift voucher for one free month of our monthly book club. Participants will receive pledge forms that they can collect from donors leading up to the event! Let's show up for our vulnerable members and get in some solid, uninterrupted reading in the process!

Our Open House & Bottle Drive in support of the Shawnigan Basin Society is finally here. We are taking over the space tomorrow, Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and we want to see the whole community out!

We’ve got an absolute powerhouse of local nerd royalty and businesses joining us:

🐉 Rebirth (Us!) with the tabletop gaming & drop-in mini painting
📚 Quill & Relic with the fantasy books & literary lore
🫒 Appy Hour with the artisanal snacks & local olives
🐙 Mythos & Mayhem with the cosmic horror & local ghost stories
🎲 Mage Hand Dice Works with the beautiful, handmade resin dice

But most importantly: Tomorrow is about giving back. 💚

Rebirth wouldn’t have a home without the Shawnigan Basin Society. Beyond providing a roof for our games, the SBS team does critical, boots-on-the-ground work to protect, restore, and advocate for the health of the Shawnigan Watershed. They look after the water and ecosystems that sustain this whole community, and now it’s our turn to look after them.

How you can support tomorrow:

🧴 Bring your empties! We are running a massive bottle drive on-site to directly fund their watershed initiatives. Drop off your bags between 10 AM and 2 PM and let us do the heavy lifting.

🎟️ Show up and build community. Come grab a coffee, chat about games, meet some amazing local makers, and explore the SBS space.

Low pressure, high community vibes. Clean out your garage or closet tonight, load up the car, and come be nerdy with us tomorrow for a fantastic cause.
