Our darling BOY arrived at 3:59 this am. Labour started at 12:30am after a relaxing night of tv and Patrick’s genius food. 3.5 hours from start to finish and a shocking 11 POUND perfect son to complete our family! I am overjoyed, so in love, and so happy to never give birth again!
My birth was smooth as silk thanks to P insisting I be on semi bed rest for the last 10 days. I lounged in bed, ate his beautiful food, rang a bell for the girls to bring me things and went into the birth process truly rested and ready for the intensity to come!
As per, my mom was my doula and she is an angel! We didn’t have a lot of time to set up, but thanks to her and P things were set up and cleaned up in jig time! Gemma joined for the birth and cut the cord. She wanted a brother and is soooo happy! Estelle woke up to a brother, when she’d been hoping for a horsey. She warmed up to him quickly and was cooperative and sweet all day.
My midwife Uta .midwifery , is a legend for a reason! I felt heard, supported and completely loved from the early moments of crying in her office with my surprise at this pregnancy, to her gentle loving hands as my boy blasted through. I love so much and am thankful I was able to birth in the comfort and safety of my home. Thank you to Kaitlyn for your gentle presence and expertise in the final moments and post partum. What a team!
Even a 3.5 hour perfect home birth is a little death. The pain was fearful as always. Thanks to years of hypnosis and meditation I managed to welcome the each hellacious sensation, and things were graciously swift, but by the goddess that hurt so much.
