Heads up everyone - it's Peregrine Falcon nesting season again. Please respect the closure area until the young have fledged.

To protect Peregrine Falcons and park visitors, the climbing routes the Grand Wall (specifically Pitch 4 [the Split Pillar] and above), the Black D**e, Europa, Millenium Falcon, The Gauntlet, and Sunset Strip, are CLOSED to climbing. The shorter routes along the lower portion of the Grand Wall and Western Dihedrals in this area remain open.

Bellygood Ledge and climbs above Bellygood Ledge remain open. If the cliffs at the top of Planet Caravan are used for BASE jumping, flights should avoid the closure area. BC Parks will continue to monitor the nest site and may update the closure area. BC Parks will lift the closure when the nest is no longer in use.

Peregrine Falcons and their nests are protected under the BC Wildlife Act. It is an offense under the Wildlife Act to harass nesting birds or damage their nests.

Please report falcon sightings to [email protected] Reports from climbers are essential for ensuring falcons are protected without unnecessarily limiting climbing opportunities

Fast & light & tasty! We're stocked up on meals to fuel your next adventure. We always recommended having a few of these on hand for spontaneous missions. We're stocking breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, so you'll never go hungry in the backcountry 😋

We are deeply saddened to learn of Todd Pope’s sudden and unexpected passing.

In a town fairly bursting with volunteers, organizers, helpers and contributors, Todd was a true stand-out; a role model for all who aspire to give back to their community.

Lately he was most closely associated with the BMX community here in Squamish and across Canada. But his influence and contributions can be seen in too many ways to count: Squamish Auxilliary RCMP, Sea-to-Sky Nordics, Tourism Squamish, the Test of Metal… any place help was needed Todd was there, smiling, joking, working, and laughing. Always laughing.

It truly is hard to believe he is gone. Squamish is at once poorer for his leaving, and greatly enriched by the time he was here.

To Todd’s family and friends, know that you do not grieve alone – the entire community grieves with you. You are in our thoughts and in our hearts as you process this unimaginable loss.

He will always be sorely missed, and fondly remembered.

The Valhalla Squamish Trail Fund thanks you for your support. The gross profit from sales of our logo'd water bottles and stickers and ski straps etc are all allocated to the trail fund to help with the development and maintenance of trails and other backcountry infrastructure in the area.

In this case, paying for a heli-lift from Black Tusk Helicopter allowed two people to clear dozens of downed trees from our favourite trail in one long day rather than two or three even longer days. So those two people thank you very much indeed 🙂

And a very loud shout-out to Ryan Larkin for stepping up, again. Many, many thanks for this day, and everything else you do.
