๐Introducing to the Crooked Flower Team๐
Hi, my name is Cassidy McArthur and I am 15 years old. I am from Crossfield, Alberta. My horses I am running at the moment are Annie and Maddy. (JoAnnie Betaneffort) also known as Annie, is a 18 year old quarter horse mare. I have owned her for 6 years this spring. I've ran her for about 5 years at junior rodeos and jackpots. I mainly use her for pole bending as she likes it more than barrels. I run her mainly for barrels in the winter as she likes inside pens better.
My other mare (Mademoizilla) also known as Maddy, is a 13 year old thoroughbred mare. I have owned Maddy for 9 years. She is my main mount and is currently just being used as a barrel horse. I am hoping someday to introduce her to pole bending. Maddy has a lot of attitude and is very opinionated. She will easily tell you what she's feeling. She brought me many 1D wins over the summer and I'm hoping next year too!
I plan on attending a few more jackpots and joining a few more associations in 2021. Such as Cinch it up barrel series, ABRA(Alberta barrel racing association) finals, AHSRA (Alberta High School Rodeo Association), and many more!
2020 has been a very eventful year even with Covid-19. I'm hoping next year I can hit a few more jackpots and rodeos. A personal goal for myself in 2021 is to improve my riding and attitude. I would like to improve my riding not for just myself, but for my horse. The way you ride your horse plays a big role in your relationship. I would also like to improve my attitude. Your mental game is extremely important. I tend to get nervous before I run and I would like to improve that. I currently have 3 sponsors at the moment. Zestarra by Pro Animal Health, and 2 family friends sponsors as well. I am extremely excited to add Crooked Flower Custom Sewing to my team as well!
I want to be an equine massage/chiropractic therapist when I am older. I love working with horses and learning how their bodys work and perform!
A quote I always think of before my run is "No matter what happens in the arena, always pat your horse."
