I was reminded this week how therapeutic crocheting has been for me. I began learning this craft while in a deep depression period of my life and then focused on it a lot more once my late husband passed. On Tuesday night, my Chapter 2 and I made our old dog comfortable in our living room, and as we waiting for him to pass away peacefully I put the finishing touches on this commissioned baby blanket, which was ordered by the very person who captured some beautiful photos of our Watson this winter. She couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m so glad for the calming craft of crocheting that helped me through all those griefy moments and that I get to share it with so many wonderful people ♥️

I almost quit making these because as I’ve known since I was 4 that I can’t do math, but I did it! I made my first pair of warm fuzzy socks, completely free handed with various yarn from my stash. Yeah they’re not the same kind of yarn, and they’re tight on the heels and wide on the ankles, but who cares. My feet are warm, and I got to postpone folding laundry for a few hours. What a worthy cause 🎄 🧦 🧶
