Here is what I was working on for the first 5 months of this year – 96 pair of Charity Potholders as their gifts for this coming Christmas…
Some have Lisa’s 7.5Inch designs on them as that turned out to be the exact same size as my potholders were.
Some have houses on them that I got from one of the applique quilts designed by Suzy’s Sitcom, but most just used up scraps that I wanted use up in the best way possible.
Unfortunately, my scrap pile doesn’t seem to be any smaller now that it was when I started.
Now that I have pictures they are all packed up and ready for pick-up.
It was a big job, bigger that I originally thought, but I’m happy with the results. ----Onwards and Upwards.

March 5th my first round quilt/table cloth is finally finished, pieced, quilted and bound. I have never been so happy with my work as for this. I have wanted a cloth for my little round table for one heck of a long time and it came about by serendipity. Fabric I bought just because I liked the colours and the patterns but didn’t have a clue what I was going to do with it. Then browsing on FB I spotted a quilt design that I thought would look nice and was in context with a mystery block I was doing. When I finished piecing it and held it up to admire my work is when it dawned on me that I could cut off the “blank” corners and add a bit to make a circle. I just happened to be exactly the right length/size for my table. And here we are about one month later and I finally am happy with the look of my little round side table. Now we can sit back and enjoy it for a long, long time.

My first finished quilt of 2024. In keeping with my Scrappy Christmas Theme this quilt was made entirely using scraps. The front is a collection of pre-cut rolls of 1.5" bias binding in greens & blue. The dark green center is a 2.25" binding. All from the early 1990's. The dark green on the back is a poly-cotton left from drapes I made in the mid 1980"s. That is all used now, thank goodness. I am just a bit sick of seeing it . The light part on the back is cotton fabric that I purchase to put in a quilt for my oldest grand daughter's 16th birthday... She is about to turn 38 this month. I have used it as backing for other quilts in progress. It is now all used up. Whewww.
I was playing 'chicken' with the two light green biases and lost. You can see my vision for the quilt on the top half where the joining strips match the adjacent blocks. I was really pleased with that effect but as you can see the bottom rows are attached with the dark green bias. As it was 2.25" wide I was able to fold it in half and use it around the edges too. I designs a label with my signature 'Bee' on even another scrap coloured green. The assembly and edges were all done on my new Epic 3 sewing & embroidery machine. The Label was the first embroidery done on this machine.
