We’re deep into Winter now. ❄️ And we’re at the stage of the season where families often get tired of the Winter grind… and shortcuts can be tempting.
Here are some important reminders to keep your little ones safe in cold weather:
(1) No puffy coats in the car seat 🚫🚙
Children shouldn’t be wearing puffy jackets in their car seats. It’s dangerous, because the puffy material can make the harness too loose. ⚠️
(And in the event of a crash, we want a snug harness, with no extra space hiding in that jacket puff.)
And no matter how many Winter months have passed, every drive is a brand new ride that requires equal care and safe decisions to protect the ones you love.
Tempo Outerwear has a safe solution. Our Duo jacket is designed to safely be worn in a car seat. 🚗✅ A convenient win for parents, and a safe and cozy win for kids!

(2) Have a cold weather plan 🥶
If a car seat safe jacket is not your family’s choice, take the time to develop a plan for how you’ll keep your little one safe and warm on the road. Will you take their jackets off before or after you get into the car? Will they buckle themselves, or do they still need your help? Where will you store extra blankets and accessories to stay warm while you drive? Being prepared helps reduce stress on cold Winter drives.
Winter is long. And the choices we make every day matter. Stay safe and warm, friends. 🩷
