We are proud to know the sustainability story behind every fabric we use, that we pledge to donated back to the Earth with every purchase, and that all of our packaging is reusable or biodegradable, but we whole-heartedly believe that these choices should not be premiums, but standards.
Let's kick off pollution prevention week talking about plastic... Every year, Canadians throw away 3 million tonnes of plastic waste, only 9% of which is recycled, meaning the vast majority of plastics end up in landfills and about 29,000 tonnes finds its way into our natural environment. Plastic is polluting our rivers, lakes, and oceans, harming wildlife, and generating microplastics in the water we use and drink.
While tackling pollution can feel like an overwhelming task, being intentional in our imperfectly sustainable journey can go such a long way. From the beginning, our commitment has been to make small changes and choices that together, can make a difference.
If we as a small shop can do these non-radical changes, there is absolutely no reason (apart from greed) that the big stores cannot show up better; so let's demand better 🤍
