No matter what you do, someone won't be pleased.

Someone will think your choices are wrong.

Someone will think that you shouldn't wear the hijab.

That you shouldn't wear a jilbab.

That you definitely shouldn't wear a niqab.

That you're too strict for refusing to work in free mixing environments.

That you're strange for wanting to stay home to tend to your family's needs.

Someone will always think your choices are wrong.

And they will tell you what you should do instead.

Pay no mind to what others have to say.

And let the speech of your Lord and your Prophet hold the most weight.

When you start treading the path towards the correct hijab, you will undoubtedly face some opposition.

But sadly, the opposition is not only from the non-Muslim community, but can extend to the Muslims; your relatives, friends or family.

Because you see, a headscarf paired with an abaya or a skirt are acceptable and praised.

But once you start teetering into jilbab or niqab, the support starts diminishing.

The cheering gets quieter from a crowd that now sees you as covering entirely too much.

This is the untold story of many sisters that don the proper hijab in a society that encourages immorality.

A society that reduces the lofty status of the woman to nothing but her physical appearance.

But why measure yourself against those nonsensical standards anyway?

Here's the thing.

You will never please the creation. So let your focus be pleasing your Creator.

Just as you're sure to keep your skin in pristine condition, give more care to the condition and rectification of your heart.

Take a trip down memory lane for a moment.

Do you remember the time when, if you were in need of an abaya, you would purchase it from your local mom and pop shop?

Reflect for a moment, what did these abayas look like?

They were super simple, loose, and typically not bedazzled with embellishments.

Fast forward - the year is 2023. And abayas are advertised with tantalizing videos of women strutting, music playing in the background, twisting and twirling as they look into the depth of your soul with alluring eyes. Donning the tightest most figure hugging maxi-dress now called "abaya".

Interesting and scary how with each year that passes, so too does the corruption rise.

And if this wasn't bad enough. This culture is slowly creeping in and being used to propagate the jilbab and the niqab.
