The Right Side is a cruelty free boutique and studio for women. WHAT DOES CRUELTY FREE MEAN? In a nutshell, we stock clothing that is sweatshop free and free of animal fibers including wool, leather and silk. WHAT DOES SLOW FASHION MEAN? Simply put, it means clothing that can stand the test of time in terms of its aesthetics and its quality. It means you can buy less but have pieces that off
er versatility. At The Right Side, we stock a wide range of fibers including organic cotton, bamboo and soy in easy silhouettes that work for all sizes and shapes. Our pieces can be worn from season to season or any occasion using the simple principles of layering and accessorizing. WHY IS ALL OF THIS IMPORTANT? The fashion and clothing industry is enormous and it continues to grow. Its contribution to the exploitation of people, animals and the environment is a growing concern for many designers, retailers and consumers. For most of us the lack of transparency in how clothing is produced is a barrier when it comes to making responsible decisions. The Right Side aims to give women access to clothing that is ethically made without compromising on style. THE STUDIO AND HANDMADE ELEMENT
Supporting the handmade movement is one of the simplest steps we can take towards more sustainable, thoughtful and ethical production. The Right Side carries a curated selection of handmade items from talented makers/ artists in the categories of ceramics, jewelry, fiber/textiles and wood working. We also carry our very own line of vegan handbags and accessories made from biodegradable and upcycled materials in our studio. THE CHARITABLE ELEMENT
Check out our charity section! This cute corner offers handmade goodies for you and your pet. The designs, materials and labour are all donated so every penny of your purchase goes to shelter animals. The Right Side will be donating the dollars that you spend in this section to the needy felines at the North Toronto Cat Rescue.
