Mashhad: A Narrative of Organized Massacre
MASHHAD, IRAN – Harrowing testimonies from January 8–10 (18–20 Dey) reveal a catastrophic state-led “organized massacre” in Razavi Khorasan Province. While official data is suppressed, eyewitness reports suggest a death toll between 4,000 and 8,000 people.
Mass Casualties & Secret Burials
One witness reported seeing up to 500 grieving families at Behesht-e Reza cemetery in a single morning. Sources indicate that forensic officials admitted to holding over 7,000 bodies, with sports warehouses converted into makeshift morgues. To conceal the scale, authorities are using secret burial sites, including unmarked plots for “unidentified dissidents.” In districts like Tabarsi and Abootaleb, residents report “ten deaths per alleyway” due to indiscriminate fire.
Systematic Torture & Targeted Mutilation
Evidence shows snipers intentionally targeted heads, eyes, and ge****ls. At the Soroush detention center, survivors describe a gruesome form of systematic torture: detainees were lined up and shot in the ge****ls with pellet guns. Officers reportedly declared, “Your generation must become extinct,” a statement reflecting genocidal intent and crimes against humanity.
State Extortion: The “Bullet Fee”
Families seeking to retrieve their loved ones face state-sponsored extortion through three forced choices:
1. Financial Ransom: Paying a “bullet fee” (Hagh-e Tir) between 400 million and 2 billion Tomans.
2. Narrative Theft: Signing forced confessions claiming the victim was a “Basij” (pro-government) member.
3. Forced Disappearance: Refusal results in the victim being buried in mass graves without the family’s presence.
This systematic targeting of wounded civilians and the desecration of the deceased mark a severe escalation in state violence.
