Since tickets are astronomically expensive, this 100% GOTS organic cotton (and soft as heck) Hotchpotch Football shirt from Frugi might be the closest any of us gets to seeing a match. Plus it's a way to join in the fun if cheering for a specific country isn't your jam.

Rolling into the May Long Weekend looking exactly like this kid. Are we ready for the skitters? Probably not. Do I have a lot of choice? None whatsoever (because as much as I don't like 'em, they are part of the ecosystem and I want the birds and animals that eat them to have food sources and survive).

My practical mom advice? Get a pair of rain mittens for your kids. For us they're the perfect multi-season mitten and they go from rainy spring days to muddy fall days through to mild winter days. For transitional weather, try the fleece lined version (Puro) or layer a basic pair (Kura) with a pair of magic gloves or woolen mittens. These were the perfect mittens when it was cool or slushy but not cold enough for our actual winter mittens (iykyk).

Yesterday when I was walking I found some Cardinal (Amesikoowabineshiinh in Anishinaabemowin) feathers on the ground. There's so much around us if we take the time to slow down and watch. Like the native flowers and shrubs that are waking up in my garden and the mushrooms I'll be looking for in the forest this summer.

Grapat's toys have a similar feeling to me. One of slowing down. Of noticing the world around us. Of honouring nature. I think the Meadow Flowers and Mushroom Grove are my two favourite of this year's releases, even if the flowers growing in my garden will look very different.

Because lets face it, part of this mom's summer dream is fruit fresh from the farmer's market eating by the playground and rashguards because it means less time spent fighting over sunscreen.
