What are your summer traditions? One of ours is the annual jumping off the dock video, normally set to Wrecking Ball 😂😂 (business account life means limited musical choices)

Personally I'm looking forward to rashguard season because it means fewer fights over sunscreen.

Since tickets are astronomically expensive, this 100% GOTS organic cotton (and soft as heck) Hotchpotch Football shirt from Frugi might be the closest any of us gets to seeing a match. Plus it's a way to join in the fun if cheering for a specific country isn't your jam.

I'll admit that historically the extent to which I follow this event is paying attention to which cars are honking and what flags they are flying :D

Rolling into the May Long Weekend looking exactly like this kid. Are we ready for the skitters? Probably not. Do I have a lot of choice? None whatsoever (because as much as I don't like 'em, they are part of the ecosystem and I want the birds and animals that eat them to have food sources and survive).

We always called 'em skitters in my neck of the woods (central ON). What about you?

I'd say let your kid run around the garden and pretend to be a pollinator, but I'm not sure where exactly Dragons fall in the ecosystem. Did you see these adorable Toby Tiger costume sets in the store? Long sleeve shirts in organic cotton with wings paired with coordinating masks.

My practical mom advice? Get a pair of rain mittens for your kids. For us they're the perfect multi-season mitten and they go from rainy spring days to muddy fall days through to mild winter days. For transitional weather, try the fleece lined version (Puro) or layer a basic pair (Kura) with a pair of magic gloves or woolen mittens. These were the perfect mittens when it was cool or slushy but not cold enough for our actual winter mittens (iykyk).

Sometimes a friend messages you to tell you that a rain coat appears in Episode 3 of Zach Galifianakis's new This is a Gardening Show (now streaming on Netflix). Wild to see how tendrils of the store reach out and show up in other unexpected places!!

Yesterday when I was walking I found some Cardinal (Amesikoowabineshiinh in Anishinaabemowin) feathers on the ground. There's so much around us if we take the time to slow down and watch. Like the native flowers and shrubs that are waking up in my garden and the mushrooms I'll be looking for in the forest this summer.

Grapat's toys have a similar feeling to me. One of slowing down. Of noticing the world around us. Of honouring nature. I think the Meadow Flowers and Mushroom Grove are my two favourite of this year's releases, even if the flowers growing in my garden will look very different.
