Lately I’ve been loving the Triangle or Crow’s foot ornamental tack. Worked in silk buttonhole twist, Dellafera describes it in his text “the Art of Garment Making’ as a reinforcement for pockets, end of breast darts, tops of pleats, and other places.
Here is shown its’ use on the separation point of fishtail backed trousers, and at the bottom of a trouser pocket as a repair, covering some damaged fabric.
It is a simple but beautiful way to strengthen a place on a garment, and I’m always happy to find a place it suits!

Love working on these unique details specific to morning, frock, and tail coats. Light padding is quilted into the underarm and back armhole, as well as some over the hips. This allows us to subtly shape the coat in the unique way needed by these garments.
Also shown are the pockets installed in the tails, placed so bulky items like wallets can sit below the seat, instead of taking up space over the chest or in the trouser.
We are always very excited when someone comes in asking for one of these historically inspired pieces!
