As Canada's newest residence devoted exclusively to individuals suffering from cognitive impairment, One Kenton Place offers a u

nique approach, which aims to improve the quality of life of its residents. At One Kenton Place, each resident receives a personal care plan which reflects their individual needs and requirements; in other words, we're not a 'One Size Fits All' place! We welcome all people with dementia to One Kenton Place; to schedule a personalized tour, call 647-932-7913. We are so happy to announce that in our effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19, One Kenton Place staff and residents have been fully vaccinated. The safety of our residents and everyone around us is most important, and therefore our amazing and dedicated staff continue to wear all proper personal protective equipment and socially distance. Resident programs and engagement during this time continues to be our top priority. Despite the pandemic, Recreation staff continue to facilitate daily programs to enrich the lives of our residents. Resident safety during programs is our top priority, and we continue to run creative and engaging programs, while making sure that all materials are properly sanitized before and after.

Yesterday was all about celebrating our amazing OKP family! ☀️🍔🎉
Our Staff Appreciation BBQ was a chance to enjoy some great food, lots of laughs, and most importantly, recognize the incredible people who make One Kenton Place such a special place every single day.
To our nurses, PSWs, recreation team, OT staff, housekeeping, maintenance, administrative team, culinary and our Spectrum staff — thank you for the care, compassion, energy, patience, and heart you bring to our residents and to each other. ❤️
Every role matters, every contribution makes a difference, and together we make OKP feel like home.
We’re so grateful for this wonderful team and were happy to spend an afternoon celebrating YOU! 🌭🍔☀️❤️

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause to remember the millions of lives lost and to honour the strength, resilience, and courage of those who survived.

At One Kenton Place, we are deeply honoured to care for those whose life story reflects unimaginable hardship, perseverance, and the enduring power of the human spirit.

We cherish the history, the struggle, and the immeasurable sacrifices made by those who lived through the Holocaust. Their experiences remind us of the responsibility we all share to stand against hatred, to protect dignity, and to ensure that remembrance is carried forward with meaning and respect.

We are proud to be a community that honours these values every day through compassion, care, and remembrance.

Our residents kicked off the day with some brain-boosting word games. Today’s game: Scrabble! 🧠
With support from our amazing Occupational Therapy team, our residents built and unscrambled words together-keeping those cognitive wheels turning!

💜 June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month 💜

This month, we go purple to honour our residents and the larger community of people who are affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia-and to support the fight for a cure.

💜 Together we can raise awareness, fund research and break the stigma. Every action matters. Every voice counts.

❤️ A huge thank you to our amazing OT student and OT team for your innovative and creative contribution to our home! Through dedicated research and a passion for enhancing the well-being of our residents, we now have an on-the-go Snoezelen Sensory trolley to add to our therapeutic resources.
