Sheep are quietly amazing for the planet. Each year they grow a renewable, biodegradable fleece that becomes warm, long‑lasting clothing — not plastic microfibres — and it returns to the soil at the end of life.

Thoughtful grazing helps recycle nutrients, reduce invasive plants, lower wildfire fuel, and rebuild soil health on degraded land.

TOG is a lab number that measures how much heat a fabric holds in a single test. Useful for comparison — but not for real life. Babies’ temperatures change overnight, rooms warm and cool, and little ones kick, burrow, or sweat. TOG doesn’t capture movement, moisture, or changing conditions, so it can leave you guessing.

Every brand starts with a problem that got personal. Ours began at 2 AM.

As new parents, we kept checking: too hot? Too cold? We learned babies lose heat far faster than adults, and most sleepwear traps a fixed amount of heat — so nights get disrupted. Wool changes that: its crimped fibres release heat when the baby warms and hold it when they cool. For Canadian seasons, that responsiveness matters.

I built Goldie Kids to solve that mismatch. Our All‑Season Wool Sleep Sack fitsup to 2 years, works in strollers, and lasts wash after wash. Our Merino Pyjamas bring the same thermoregulating comfort next to the skin — and double as outdoor base layers.

Happy Easter — with spring comes rebirth, and we’re pausing to admire the quiet wonder of wool.

Our Canadian sheep give us more than cozy fleeces: each year they grow a renewable fiber that returns to the earth. Canada’s flocks — roughly 1.04 million head (inventory, July 1, 2025) across about 52 recorded breeds — also help care for the land: grazing controls invasive plants, recycles nutrients into soil, reduces wildfire fuel, and supports biodiverse pastures for pollinators and wildlife.

That’s why we choose wool: natural, renewable, biodegradable, and good for the landscape that raises it. Today we celebrate the animals, the farmers, and the closed‑loop cycle they make possible — pasture → fleece → comfort → soil. Thank you, sheep. 🐑🌱🌷
