🎓✨ And that’s a wrap on Prom 2026! ✨🎓

The final prom gown has left the shop, and prom appointments are officially complete for the year.

A huge thank you to every student and family who trusted East Coast Tailor with such an important milestone. From simple hems to major transformations, it has been an absolute pleasure helping so many amazing young people feel confident and comfortable for their special night.

To say this season was busy would be an understatement, but I truly love what I do, and I’m grateful for every dress, every challenge, and every smile at pickup.

Now it’s time to shift my focus back to wedding gowns, bridesmaids, formalwear, and all the other alterations waiting their turn.

Monday Morning Reality Check ✂️✨

Prom season is in full swing over here!

This week, I’m sending out beautifully finished gowns while new ones are still arriving through the door. Some dresses are heading to prom this week, some are just coming in for their first fitting, and somehow they’re all sharing the same rack space!

It’s that time of year when every day is a mix of pickups, fittings, hems, bustle pins, last-minute adjustments, and a little bit of controlled chaos.

If your prom dress is still hanging in your closet and hasn’t been altered yet… now is definitely the time to reach out. The calendar is filling quickly, and prom waits for no one. 😅

For now, it’s coffee in one hand, pins in the other, and another busy week doing what I love.

Apparently I’ve been so busy working that I forgot to post for about a week.

I promise I’m still here.

The sewing machines are running, the appointments are full, the gowns are getting fitted, and the coffee is still hot (most days).

When things get a little quiet on this page, it’s usually because I’m focused on the clients sitting across from me rather than the phone sitting beside me.

Thank you to everyone who continues to trust East Coast Tailor with your wedding gowns, prom dresses, suits, and special occasion wear. Your support keeps me doing what I love every day.

As another busy week comes to a close, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to every bride, graduate, groom, parent, athlete, and client who trusted me with something important this week. Whether it was a wedding gown, a prom dress, a suit, or a favorite piece that needed a little extra care, I never take that trust for granted.

After more than 25 years in this industry, I can honestly say I still love what I do. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a garment that doesn’t quite fit, doesn’t quite feel right, or needs a little vision—and transforming it into something that helps someone feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful.

Behind every hem, bustle, zipper, and hand-sewn appliqué is a genuine passion for the craft. It’s not just about alterations; it’s about being a small part of some of life’s biggest moments.

Thank you for allowing me to do work that I truly love.

Don’t wait until the week before prom and expect miracles from the seamstress running on caffeine and thread. 😂

I’m often asked why some hems are so expensive… this is why. Hours and hours of lace picking (I never cut through lace appliqués) with a straight razor before I can even begin to hem your gown. Once it is hemmed, the appliqués go back, one by one.
How do I know where they go back? I take photos as I go.
