The serger on the left I picked up from a friend. It used to be her mother's and it came to me in a box with newspaper from the late 90s. I don't think it got used much. Aside from the inside looking like a mouse nest and needing a basic tuneup it's actually a wonderful little serger.

I definitely find an immense amount of satisfaction through fixing the neglected machines kicking around. Don't let good things gather dust.

What are your ways of managing risk, but still letting your kids explore? Neither of my boys show any fear when it comes...
