Had the pleasure of attending my 2nd zoom call for ✨

This workshop focused on skincare and cosmetics✨

I had many takeaways from this workshop:

💖 Use disposable sponges, spoolie, cotton balls, wedges when applying makeup (don’t use brushes)

💖 Wear sunscreen 24-7. It ain’t sexy, but it’s good for your skin

💖 Don’t exfoliate your face while on chemotherapy

💖 Mascara change it every month

💖 Don’t use false eyelashes. The glue can irritate your sensitive eyes

💖 Moisturizer! Moisturizer! Moisturizer!

Grateful for this program and to connect with other lovely women who have cancer from across Canada✨

Fun fact that this program has been offered for the past 30 years💖

Side effects this round kicked in earlier than previous rounds🥹

Day 2 I was already getting hit hard with side effects🥹

My scalp continues to burn and my hair feels like uncooked ramen noodles 🍜

Extreme fatigue kicked my butt for 3 days straight. Holding my phone was even a challenge cause it was so heavy to hold🥹

I tackled nausea this round with eating small snacks/meals every hour. Eating soda crackers, apple sauce or toast. I’m now on new type of nausea pills that knock me out hard. Lots of naps this round💖

I tell myself mentally that at least I have extreme fatigue and not extreme nausea. I have burning scalp, but I still have my eyelashes🥹

Counting the days till I feel more like myself and not in this chemo fog that takes over my world for a week💖

Staying grateful for what I do have, taking it one day at a time and seriously can’t wait till I can skate again💖 xoxo Shannon

This round of chemo side effects started early for me🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s always been day 4 post chemo, but my side effects decided to start on day 2🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve have wild psychedelic dreams whenever I fall asleep, extreme fatigue, nausea, swollen hands, burning scalp and neuropathy🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m also on a new type of nausea pill this round, which makes me so highhhhh🙃
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I spend day 2 basically sleeping on and off for 20 hours🐨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Always on day 3 I have to give myself a self injection to help my bone marrow, then it always induces horrible bone pain in my legs and hips on day 4. I will take a Clartin before my self injection into my stomach which truly helped a lot waking up on day 4 last round🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s mentally such a mind F knowing that day 4-7 the past 2 rounds I was bed ridden with horrific side effects🥹

Praying tomorrow won’t be bad, but mentally preparing for the worst🥹

Chemo cocktail lounge round 3 🥂

I guess I could get excited that I’m half way done🫠

Have I told ya. Nothing is exciting about chemo. It’s not a fun time at all and I truly wish no one ever has to endure it in their lifetime🥹

Half way through chemo and 11 more months of Herceptin💔

But here I am pulling up my granny panties, showing up and doing hard things🥹 I can do hard things,right? I also love watching trash TV every round of chemo🥂

Kardashians are on repeat in the chemo cocktail lounge for moi. Also I’m an alumni student with since February 2021 and wanted to reread the branding strategy workbook .harris 💖

Cheers to every day being Groundhog Day! Trying to beat cancers ass! And to the Kardashians for keeping me entertained with my lovely oncologist nurses🥂
