Last week leading up to the race. Focusing on the last bits of training. Almost time to go to war.

HYROX NYC - Week 11/13 🗽

Another good week in the books. Hit the marks, stayed consistent, and kept stacking work. Feeling stronger every week heading into NYC.

As I’m writing this though… got sick Sunday. Not exactly how you want to spend the final two weeks before race day. So week 12/13 might get interesting.

For now it’s simple — rest up, recover, and keep moving forward.

HYROX NYC — Week 10/13

One of those weeks where everything clicked.

Started turning the volume up on the run training. Early mornings are becoming the standard now — 2 before sunrise sessions this week and we’re just getting started.

Life outside of training was chaos too. Big bid due at work, packed schedule, a million moving pieces. But that’s part of it. Finding a way to get it done anyways.

3 weeks out now.
Head down.
Stay disciplined.
Keep stacking.

HYROX NYC - Week 9/13

Solid week of training. Got the gym sessions in early this week and all of the cardio done at the end. The weather is starting to feel like summer and I can’t wait to be outside more. Suns out guns out 💪

and I are now 1 month away from the race. We noticed running was an area where we could improve on a bit, so we are making an effort to get that locked in.

Next phase: improve the cardio an focus on recovery

HYROX NYC - Week 8/13 🗽

A weird week of being sick, busy with work, and working on some future events for 👑

All in all, still got a lot accomplished with getting a HYROX class in, playing some ball hockey, supporting with their shakeout run, and helping my girlfriend get her 10KM PR at the ⚡️

1 month of training left and time to give it everything we got. Practice makes perfect!

The pain train don’t stop ✋

Halfway through the training block for the HYROX in New York. A goal of a sub-1 hour in mind for and I. 4 minutes to shave off but plenty of time to do so. Not used to the early start times so definitely some work to do.

Still showed up. Still got it done.

Big Saturday jumping into the Keg Leg with the crew — hurt in the right way. Thank you 🙏

Weekend wrapped up with something different.

The Bazan Bay 5K. 2 years running it now and slowly making progress every time. Last year I finished with 21 minutes, this year I finished with 20 minutes and 26 seconds. Slowly improving and ever so slightly getting closer to my goal of achieving the sub-20 minute 5K. Till the next one ☝️

HYROX NYC — Week 6/13 🗽

Halfway through the block.

Set up a big weekend to check where things are actually at. TF45 HYROX simulation with and on Saturday. Bazan Bay 5K on Sunday to close out the season.

Went into it with a clear target — sub 1 hour at the simulation. Didn’t hit it, but and I still walked away with a PR: 1:03:55. Close enough to see it, far enough to know there’s work to do. Biggest gap right now is holding the run when the legs are cooked. That’s the focus going forward.

Turned around the next day for the 5K. Wanted sub 20. Ended up 20:26. Not perfect, but I’m proud of it. Tried to squeeze a PR out of a body that was already pushed to the edge the day before — and that’s part of the process.

This week did exactly what it needed to do. Showed progress, exposed weaknesses, and gave me a clear direction heading into the back half of the block.

Still time to build. Still time to sharpen. NYC coming.
