The Wild Bird Society of Japan (WBSJ), founded in 1934 by Sado Nakamura, works to conserve wild birds and nature while promoting coexistence between humans and the environment. As Japan’s oldest and largest conservation organization, WBSJ advocates for wildlife protection laws, supports Japan’s participation in the Ramsar Convention, and works on securing bird sanctuaries and creating educational materials to raise awareness of conservation.
