With Orange Shirt Day coming up at the end of the month, I have 3 brand new very special t-shirts up on my store! These “Every Child Matters” shirts are intended to commemorate the residential school experiences and to honour the healing journey of the survivors and families.
** 100% of the profit from each of these shirts is donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society ***
This year, we’ve witnessed the uncovering of the brutal truth behind Canada’s shame of attempted assimilation. The remains of THOUSANDS of children have been found at residential school sites in the name of the catholic church. And as this isn’t new news, it has recently been brought to the mainstream forefront where we are confronted with the many years we’ve turned a blind eye to this horrific injustice. As Canadians, it is our responsibility to do the work in addressing historical and ongoing harm in this, a settler-colonial country.
