Hello there friends! It is Monday and we're celebrating the final week of the big month that was November 2022. We learned a lot, connected with new makers and Indigenous entrepreneurs across the province, and were lucky to travel to some beautiful traditional territories to learn on the land and gather wisdom for our journey forward🦅 .

We are offering 30% off all of our shop this week! Today (Monday) to Friday (Dec. 2) as a way to say thanks for the community and energy closing out this calendar year. Use code 30OFF at checkout to get 30% all our products from our Aymar Sawuri and Textil Otomi partners😍.

As a very small business whose aim is to support sustainable textiles that protect Indigenous human rights and the planet, Cyber Monday is not really our jam. That said, we want to keep bring our products to more happy customers, and lowering our prices is one way to do that.

Let us know what is on your holiday shopping list as the season approaches, and join our newsletter to stay up to date on all things blooming at Florezca!

Get 30% off today and all week with code 30OFF at checkout.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here, but wanted to share some Thursday afternoon cozy glory from my office, looking out on the late summer (it’s October !) growing greens 😱😆😁. We haven’t had rain since July here on the west coast and it’s scary. Makes me double down on my commitment to support clothing and makers that protect and love our planet’s precious resources 🌳🌵💧☀️ 🍁

Garden post🌿🌷🌸🌼! Getting out in my backyard is medicine to my soul, and a reminder of the inherent brilliance of natural systems. Here I’m showing you my garlic scapes, blooming out of garlic cloves planted in October, 2021.
Garlic is one of the few plants with two harvests: garlic scapes are harvested in the late spring and early summer, and then the bulbs are harvested later in the summer. When we think about the power of the Earth to sustain us and surprise us, garlic is a great example. 🌷

Particularly thankful to live, work and learn today and always on this beautiful ancestral and traditional Tsawwassen and Musqueam territory. Without proper care of the land, there is no future for any of us. Learning from Indigenous stewardship planning and values is a rich and beautiful journey; and something I aspire to do in all my journeys.

Our ponchos = all-day hugs 🤗.
From the warmth of Chile’s driest desert (the Atacama🏜) to your shoulders, all of our pieces are made with super-soft, hypoallergenic alpaca wool.
We care about the planet we all share, so all of the fibers we use are sustainably sourced with NO harsh chemicals or dyes. Ponchos are South America’s fashion secret- something to wear all day, keep you cozy, and look great 😊🥳❤️💃.
Every piece is made by hand by women from the Aymar Sawuri cooperative. Every purchase supports their organization’s community work and economic self-determination. The last three photos here are from my time in the Atacama desert a few years back. The stunning landscape and the amazing people make it a very special place for me! Check out all our poncho online - link in bio 👆🏻😘.

Our Story

My idea is simple: connect more indigenous women’s owned-businesses from Latin America to the global marketplace. Period. I am bringing the Florezca platform together for women’s cooperatives to showcase their work, grow, and build strong trade relationships in markets beyond their local communities.

Whether they are amazingly soft, beautiful wraps and home wares from the Aymar Sawuri group in Chile, or handbags from an all-women’s collective in Mexico, I work directly with cooperatives, woman to woman. I hope to wear clothes that last a long time. I want to look into my closet and choose timeless, durable, stylish clothes that reflect my character. I admire the pride and intention women like Sussana, Palmenia and others represent and weave into every piece they make. At Florezca, I work to champion these weavers’ connection to their indigenous textile production methods and commitment to using only natural materials. My level of close and regular interaction ensures the makers receive a real and fair price for their extraordinary artisanal products and gain increased access to the profitable North American consumer market.

Recyclable, environmentally friendly, natural and sustainably sourced: our products claim all of the above.

Florezca means to bloom, to flower, to spill forth. I hope others can enjoy these products as much as I do.
