People always ask me why we do the sample sale this way - isn’t it too exhausting to manually reply to hundreds of messages?

No! It’s truly such a joy! Y’all are the most fun, patient and kind shoppers out there 🥰

We’re busy packing up your orders - remember that if you added items from the online shop, your order won’t ship for another couple of weeks while we sew those items up! 🧵

Yes, we also wish this fact wasn’t true. It’s sadly industry standard for clothing brands to “overproduce,” meaning they intentionally make more than they’ll need. Basically, it’s more profitable to have too much stock than to run out.

Globally, 8 to 60 billion brand new garments end up in the landfill every year because of this. Why such a big range? Companies are not required to disclose just how much they are throwing away.

So while our sample sale is a fun way to score some great pieces on discount - it’s also us taking a stand against waste 💛💛💛

Some of our pieces will go through multiple sample sales before finding their forever homes. We are wholly committed to never, ever throwing away perfectly good clothing. Each item is catalogued, repaired if needed, and stored until they find the perfect person.

If it sounds like we’re talking about clothes like they’re more than just objects - they are to us. We spend so much time designing, cutting, sewing and finishing each piece, they become more than just a number on a spreadsheet.
