Friday aesthetic inspiration. I keeping with the industrial vibes that have been showing up in my creations largely, this is a power station near my house. I’ve always like this new building since they upgraded the facility. It’s imposing, but funky at the same time. The panel design is quite Bauhaus.

Have a lovely weekend!

Inspiration: this is a vintage artist’s rendition of the Arther Erickson MacMillan Bloedel building in downtown Vancouver. My husband’s grandpa was on the team who worked on the building in the 60s. How cool is that? He had this print in his collection and it is too cool not to keep.

While the style is a bit harsh, I actually really like the brutalist style of art and architecture from an aesthetic perspective. They look very striking..and maybe you can see how this sense of design influences my jewelry 🖤

My first belt! The leather is a bit thinner than what is usually used for hip belts like this but I quite like the lightweight feel of it. Great for layering over a simple dress at the hip or cinch at the waist for a different look. Size adjustable 32-34 inches in diameter. Made with sustainably in mind with high quality scrap leather. I only by scrap for my projects!

Find it in my Poshmark closet (link in bio).

Sunday experiment! I collect a lot of rocks from the local beaches here…too many 😆 I had fun incorporating one of my favorite stones into this leather collar statement necklace. The stone has a layer of quartz over dark granite that gives it a hint of sparkle and texture.

I hand wrapped the stone with h**p twine. The leather is soft and comfortable but sturdy enough to maintain its structure.
