Cultural Fusion is a women's wear collection taking inspiration from Asian heritage by blending cultural signifiers. The collection seeks to present how western culture has influenced Japanese culture, by making connections between cultural aesthetics.
The ideology of male superiority has been influential for many years, especial- ly in Asia. In recent years, with the inflow of western culture, thoughts of gender equality are more open minded and the social status of women has increased the appeal of feminism. Through drawing on the aesthetic elements of Kimono and Hakama, the collection explores issues of raising women's rights in Japan, by showing the powerful elegance of women by adopting Japanese elements into garment details.
The prints are taking inspiration by pine tree in Japan.
All prints are printed with screen printing and foiling in 3 metallic colors.
