24 weeks down and about 10 to go before we release the new Shop Vancouver selvedge denim jeans made in collaboration with Little Hand in Toyota Japan. 168 days of wear and 6 washes in and they are holding up great ! Slub ?in simple terms “Slub” is just denim with more texture. Yea there’s more to it technically .. woven slowly under loose tension with loom chatter blah blah blah .. but basically all you need to understand is that it’s going to be rougher with a more unique texture and a more variable look to the fade than your typical traditional denim.
We do have more of our selvedge 16oz SLB 1955 collaboration with Iron Heart current eta is unknown but they have been ordered.

There’s a lot of terms in denim that the average consumer simply doesn’t understand. So let’s break em down.
Denim weight - usually referred to in ounces.. ie 14oz 21oz 40oz. All ya need to know here is the higher the number the heavier the denim. Here at The Shop we top out at 21oz for our denim, we find this to be a perfect weight for wearability, durability and comfort. Don’t make the mistake of assuming just because it’s heavier it’s going to last longer. Longevity often comes down to buying the right cut for your body type not the heaviest Jean you can stand.

23 weeks and 161 days of wearing The Shop little hand Japanese selvedge denim jeans everyday until we release them sometime in September 2026. This week I washed them at the start and end of the week bringing us up to 5 washes plus one original soak for shrinkage… in the next few weeks we will start talking about the details and inspiration of these pants .. so stay tuned. Hyped !

The Shop Navy rough out steer hide chore. These are finally back in stock and are truly one of my favourite pieces we have done. With time and wear the leather will start to fade showcasing its beautiful denim like fade potential.. I’m a few years into mine and I really do believe that this will be incredible in 5 more haha.
