May 16th will mark six and a half years since we opened the doors at our flagship store in Vancouver’s Gastown. Unfortunately, it will also be the last day our 299 Columbia Street location will be open to shop.

Don’t sweat. We’re on the move with new locations opening in 2022. In the interim (as always) you can shop the latest footwear and apparel drops at STRIKE-MVMNT.COM and find us in some new retailers TBA this summer.

We opened in Gastown in 2014 to create a central hub where our Vancouver community could experience a new vision of what an athletics brand could look like - Merging technical performance with a casual aesthetic to create New Athletic Standards®. Built around our brand ethos - United By Motion® - we celebrate inclusivity through movement and mobility.

The Gastown store became a backdrop to dozens of our “INTERFACE” and “DIALOG” events, which consisted of hosting local gyms, run clubs, movement workshops, speaking engagements, design students, book launches, art shows, and some really great parties – to name a few.

So, thank you all for making the space what it was. Thank you if you just rolled through to say hi, came in for a coffee or got a pair of kicks. Thank you if you brought friends or came to see us from out of town. We appreciate you all!

The impact and knock-on effects of COVID-19 to the Downtown East Side community and surrounding businesses has been substantial.

What the neighbourhood needs right now is love. Lots of it. In our humble opinion that should show up in the following way:

•HOUSING FIRST: Having a safe place to call home is a Human Right.

•CLEAN AND SAFE SUPPLY: The fastest way to mitigate death and illness while defunding the black market is through the decriminalization and legalization of the drugs used to self-medicate.

•ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT: 90% of drug using residents of the Lower East Side have faced physical and/or sexual abuse and suffer from trauma. They don’t need or want our pity they need our support, respect and care.
