I posted these ones in my stories the other day and wowie you loved them!! I had intended on making this a one of a kind but as with any colourway I love I’m going to try and recreate it! I found the scribbled down recipe for the colours used from a year ago, so we’ll try this one again.

A new yarn base joins us for tomorrow’s update: meet Fieldling!

She’s a light fi*****ng weight silk/linen blend and the first plant fibre I’ve attempted in my dyeing endeavours. It was quite different from what I’m used to with wool, but by the 3rd batch I found the sweet spot to get the dyes to strike juuuust right.

I’ve named her Fieldling which my phone/computer insist isn’t really a word; but my research tells me it’s a very old word meaning ‘a dweller or inhabitant of the field’, which describes this blend beautifully. 65% tussah silk and 35% linen create a soft, rustic hand feel but with a beautiful silky sheen. 🌾

My established colourways show up a bit differently on this base than they do on wool, and would make some beautiful summer tops. 🧶

Shop update announcement! 🎺🐑

I’ve been dyeing up a storm this last few weeks to prep for the next update, which I’m happy to announce will be this Saturday, May 1st at 1PM PST. I’ll have lots of sock and mini sets, as well as single skeins and sweater quantities. 🌈

Keep your eyes peeled to my stories this week to see exactly what will be included, and I hope you can snag some new yarn bbs!

A shipping update! 📦🎉

I’ve been experimenting with lots of different options to make shipping a bit more accessible. Shipping from here in Canada isn’t cheap, but I’m excited to share with you a discounted shipping rate!

Effective today, Canadian and US shipping will be $10 CAD when spending $150 CAD (~$120 USD) or more on your order! 🛒

I’m working on transitioning my shipping supplies to be even more eco-friendly as I become most established as a dyer and a small business. Thermal shipping labels are coming soon, as well as 100% recycled, recyclable, and reusable poly mailers! These are also a bit lighter, cutting down on shipping costs. 🙌

Thank you for all your support in making these changes possible! It’s been a big month for me and SFC and I couldn’t have done it without you. 🤗

These are a few of my favourite skeins 🎶

Happy Monday to you! I’ll be busy this week dyeing up lots of mini skeins for the next shop update later this month (date TBA), for both mini sets & sock sets! 🧦

Dyed on my Barefoot Organic Sock base, minis are a great way to get to know the yarn a bit. The feedback I’ve gotten from my amazing customers is that this base is quite different from other sock yarns—it’s plump and bouncy and has great stitch definition, but I think it’s the organic Merino and the eco-superwash process that makes this one shine. ✨

All of my organic yarns are certified by GOTS (global organic textile standard), and are superwash treated in a different way—without the use of chlorine gas. This is my best-selling base, and I’m so glad you love it as much as I do! 🐑

Well it took me 2 years but I’ve finally made myself a hat with my own yarn! This was made using the leftovers from my Bliss Cardigan, and I’m getting as much use out of it as I can before the weather warms more. ☁️

The more I knit with non-superwash yarns the more I fall in love with them. I love the texture and the hand, and even though they’re a little more work to hand-dye and care for, I think it’s worth it. I used a skein each of my Kindred Untreated Fi*****ng and Cumulus Mohair, both in Cirrus. 🐑

Do you prefer superwash or untreated yarns? Or both? ♥️

Now that this cutie is in her new home, I’m excited to share a very special FO and my first baby knit made for a lovely mama-to-be. 🐻

I used 2 skeins of my Homebody Worsted base in ‘Dusk’ to make the 6-9 month size, and it is defs the cutest thing I’ve made!
