Put it in a POUFFE! There are actually so many things you can stuff in a pouffe. Old dance costumes, sports jerseys, clothes of loved ones who have passed on, or stuffed animals to name a few.

But I really want to talk about what they are NOT for.

They are not another way to justify overconsumption. Fast Fashion has put in our heads that it's okay to buy the cheap thing even if we wear it once because we can always donate it. A pouffe is not just a simple alternative to donation. In my brain, putting old clothes in a pouffe is a small piece of the puzzle. It needs to be in conjunction with shopping less, second-hand first, borrowing, swapping, mending, etc.

I think donating clothes should still be part of the picture, but only if they're good enough to be reworn. I know that's subjective and one person's trash is another person's treasure, but sometimes one person's trash will be everyone's trash, but it shouldn't be another person's problem.

The fashion waste crisis is a huge and very complicated problem, so there is no simple fix. It's going to take some critical thinking, so do your best. I'm just grateful if you try one little thing.

Patchy pouffes come in a few different options to satisfy your patchwork craving and stick to your budget.

The Wee Bit Patchy has 4-5 patches on top and 6 - 8 patches on the sides. The patches are larger than the other patch types. This is your budget friendly option as it's the least costly.

Moderately Patchy has 6-7 patches on top and 8 - 10 patches on the side. It's the most medium of the patchy pouffes.

Extra Patchy has 11 different patches on top and 12 - 16 patches on the side. Tis a really patchy guy.

You pick your colourway and your patchy type. These ones are all in the Loves Hiking colourway which is rich earth tones, most colours you would see on a hike. Greens, blues, browns, and greys.

They're made from leftover pieces of fabric from other projects and recirculated scraps/dead stock from FABCYCLE Deadstock Fabric Shop.

They're sold EMPTY, so you can stuff them yourself with clothes that are too worn out or damaged and shouldn't be donated. They have a zipper, so you can continue filling them once the contents start to compact.

I just added 3 more colourways to the website! Also, I just dropped a bunch of new regular pouffe shells. The sewing pattern is available as well!

Like I said, these are the only 2 CUTE ways. There are other uses for these bad boys. But before I show you, I want to know what other uses you can come up with. Tell me in the comments!

I made this sticker as a conversation starter. If you know, you know. But if you don't know, maybe you'll ask what it means.

The amount of clothes produced and thrown away each year is horrifying. We're destroying our planet for the sake of never being seen in the same outfit twice.

If someone asked you about this sticker on your laptop or water bottle, what would you tell them?

If you're unsure what the meaning of this sticker is, what questions do you have? A majority of people don't understand that there's a fashion waste problem, and that's part of the problem.

My whole mission is to reduce fashion waste, part of that is education and awareness.

I get comments like this all the time. While I know they come with good intentions and mean well, these ideas are outdated.

Don't get me wrong, recycling and donating clothes ARE GOOD OPTIONS, but they have some caveats:

Recycling clothes is hard and expensive. Due to the mixed fibre content and hardware like zippers or buttons, recycling clothes is more difficult than we think to do. Due to that and other factors, it's really expensive, but who pays for it? Fashion brands aren't. Consumers don't want to. The government? Even the recycling companies that do exist, not enough people are willing to pay more for recycled clothes to make it a sustainable practice at scale and long term. It's not impossible, some places are doing it well, but I'm just trying to say it's not at the scale we need it to be or people think it is. THEREFORE, it shouldn't be our first option when dealing with clothes we don't want anymore.

Donating clothes is a great option, HOWEVER, not when the clothes you're donating are unwearable or in bad shape. Nobody, regardless of need, deserves to wear those kinds of clothes. That's my point here. Please donate clothes that are in good condition that can be worn for a while longer. Extending the lifespan of clothes is extremely important. But for worn-out fast fashion, stained and damaged sweaters, jeans, shirts, etc, dumping those at donation centers isn't helping anyone. It's dumping and making it someone else's problem. Our system is overloaded.

I'm not trying to shame anyone, or make you feel bad. What else do you do with those clothes other than throw them away? At least if they're donated, there's a chance something good will happen with it, right? Unfortunately, it's not likely.

So my solution is to stuff all of your unwearable clothes in a pouffe!! Like these! I sell them empty so you can stuff them yourself with all of those clothes that are unwearable and hard to recycle. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than the landfill right now. Plus, they're super fun to stack! Just make sure your coffee isn't sitting nearby for the inevitable topple!
