Is Fat Sisters pet friendly?

Obviously yes. Especially if your pet likes humans. cryingfatsister does give doggo massages and scritches. Plus, she always likes a little cutie to lick her face as a pick me up. Dogs only.

We also have favorites so if you want to get on the list we need to meet tour doggo. Shout out to:

- Rhubarb
- Sprite

Also Sherra whose dog’s name I forget at this moment. And Meg, whose dog I haven’t met in the store but I did in the wild and I’d like to see Frankie again.

FAQ 10 - do we carry normal sizes?
This is the paper bag over the face kind of answer. We carry sizes large to 6X and those clothes can fit any person. Hope that helps.

FAQ 11 - are we successful? Well I quit my 15 year career a year ago so I would say yes. It just depends on what we’re measuring. Some things for me personally are less, but some other things are better - ya know. There’s always a trade off and I believe the upside potential of Fat Sisters will far surpass what my corporate career could have offered. Plus I get to hang out with my sister a lot. And impact all of you. Definitely cried a lot more happy tears than frustrated tears in the past 2 years. (But also quite a few tired tears 😭). Waiting patiently for our brand to blow up but probably need to answer that fitness influencer that wanted to feature us on his YT? 😅😅

FAQ 12 - why are we always closed? We’re not. Our ours are also based on data - so over a year ago we looked at our stats and saw that the last hour of the day was the slowest and counted the times people tried to get in early so we shifted our hours - and it’s been working pretty well, but we will say on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons people want to stay late and we might consider extending Friday hours. And who knows, maybe we’ll be ready to hire soon for Mondays and Tuesdays. Until then, we’re open Wednesday through Sunday and our hours are always up to date on Google, Apple Maps, our website and most recently yelp.

You might think my camera roll is filled with funny videos, but really it’s just filled with measuring tape pictures and measurements so that when I try to make shop improvements I’ve got some data to go on.

Pic 1: The button up shirt rack is the only product pic I could find and honestly I’ve also been thinking about scissor snipping them all to a cropped length.

Pic 2: perfect time for denim skirts! If you have any 5X or 6X denim skirts we do have a shortage and could use a couple on consignment.

Pic 3: assessing the space for our new racks. Our giant mirror hides and electrical box but you’re just gonna have to see it. If anyone needs a giant mirror we’re gonna have one available soon(ish)

Pic 4: there’s a gap between 2 racks upstairs and we might add a bar but would need a custom length. Any suggestions?

Pic 5: the metal racks we found secondhand upstairs…were found again for downstairs! But we had to shove it all in our tiny back room until there’s time to paint and setup. So we’re so short on space and it’s feeling too messy for me

Pic 6: we got this rack from our oldest consignor Sharon, but it’s gonna have to go too. With the new old racks going up, I’m gonna be busy on fb marketplace 😭

Pic 7: speaking of fb marketplace - gotta have all the measurements for all the things..these shelves didn’t even get picked up by John who no-showed

Pic 8: measuring how many racks fit in this configuration so I can order the fittings and bars to get it setup (and then get rid of our long clothing racks…)

Pic 9 and 10 and 11: speaking of those clothing racks….taking measurements so I can sell them quickly and get them out of the shop on a “day off” so when we open it’s a organized and lovely for you!

This is the small projects going on now, but there’s so much behind the scenes - whether it’s racks or website updates or taxes or configurations or answering emails…

Usually we try and get the product post pics up but today i guess it’s behind the scenes!

Not shown me hauling hundreds of pounds of metal racks up the stairs this morning and dropping a heavy duty wagon on my toe 🤡🤡

Friends!! Enemies!! You think we’re the BEST IN THE CITY!!

If you voted for us…thank you! Things like best in the city by Victoria News are important to us because it helps new people find us and trust us. And when that happens it means that we can keep growing the business so that when people ask us….”so, are things good?” We can keep saying YES!

Plus it’s good for our egos 🔥🔥

We’re so lucky to be part of such a cool secondhand community in Victoria - and lucky that Downtown Victoria, BC uplifts us through the Secondhand Victoria community. And especially other consignment shops that recommend us to new shoppers and consignors - we’re really lucky and so grateful to be here.

Three years in a row feels pretty nice, because year one had to have been a fluke…year two someone asked us if it was a fluke…year three…it’s gotta mean we’ve got a strong following for real for real.
