It is with a ton of sadness that we have to officially close CQ indefinitely.
We have been trying to find a home that fits us, with space for this labour of love, but the outlook is bleak. We seem to be stuck in this tiny box, with no space for actually existing, for the foreseeable future. Not gonna lie, we’re all kinda screwed mentally right now, with no real hope for the future. As we approach our 30’s our hopes for a kid, having a dog, having our own space and a garden etc feel entirely unattainable despite us all working ourselves into exhaustion. Things are not good, and the loss of Kona and CQ is hitting us pretty hard on top of everything else.
The website is now down, any unfulfilled orders have either been sent out if we have the stock, or canceled and refunded. We will be doing small, occasional restocks at The Brass iris, the tattoo studio our main artist opened this year and is focusing on, but they will be few and far between. There will be no more plushies, bags, or textile goods until we have the space to create them.
We may do a crowdfunding thing at some point to try and get a leg up to get a more expensive but at least big enough for a 4 person family rental, or, dare we dream, the down payment for a small but workable house in Sooke or Duncan? (I know, don’t get our hopes up)
For the time being this page will be pretty much inactive. We will post events at the studio and such, and continue to focus on our 50-60 hour (Or in Leopolds case, 80-90 hour) work weeks to try and keep our heads above water and aim for a future of some kind.
Sorry for being so bleak, but honestly, things suck right now. So… Keeping it real I guess.

We *might* start up the patreon again at some point. Possibly. So that, if we can swing it, will be the only way to get CQ goods aside from coming to the physical shop.
Thanks for all the well wishes, and support in the past! Sorry to be so depressing! Hopefully this won’t last forever haha.

Hello! Greetings! Welcome to February!
Apparently we’ve been doing the month thing wrong here, so just a heads up you’re not missing a month! We’ve been informed that we should be referring to the rewards we post as the next months rewards as that is when they’re sent out! Which I guess makes sense? Anywho, uhhh, 2021 huh? So far, so wild! I know we’re supposed to be positive and uplifting and hopeful and all that... But can we just say, we miss our friends. We miss communal dinners and adventures, hugging our family, meeting new people at cool events... Anyways. How are you all holding up? Hanging in there? We sincerely hope everyone is able to find some little pockets of joy these days, amidst the chaos of the world. Hello everyone!💕🌸✨
You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet over here as of late- that’s because the main human behind CQ has been working on a very exciting project! (Among other life things)
The Brass Iris is a joint project dreamed up by myself (Leopold, ) and my good pal Nicola (.nic) and we are so stoked to finally be well and truly on the way! Our aim is to open a safe, inclusive, and accessible tattoo studio, with a strong emphasis on community. Our goal is to have a bright, open, multi-uses space that can be transformed for community events, skill-shares, workshops, and more! (Covid dependant/with safety measures in place obviously 😉)
If you’d like to support our dream we are doing a fundraiser with lots of fun merch through www.cosmicqueers.com/tattoo-shop ! Half of the proceeds will also be going to The Victoria BIPOC Therapy Fund run by ! Which aims to raise $48,000 to send 10 BIPOC peeps to therapy for a year! (With priority being given to LGBTQ2S+ peeps) See the third slide for more details!

We’re starting 2021 with a few changes! We’ve swapped things up a bit this month, with a different style, new packaging, and more! Don’t worry, some months will still be our usual cute and pastel! But we want to give it a bit more variety, and our artist likes to shake things up here and there (They’re a little chaotic) So some months will be funky witchy goodness, and some moths will be adorable pastels! This will be your last chance at most of our bags and apparel, as we have decided to minimize what we offer currently. This is a tough decision for us to make, but ultimately with the loss of in-person markets this year we have struggled to keep this dream afloat, and have had to take on other work to attempt to make up for lost income this year. The struggle to keep trying to put our little shop out there has worn us down and we’ve decided to take a step back and minimize the products we make and offer while we focus on other things that bring us joy, and alternate income sources . For this reason we will be transitioning to mostly stickers, pins, and prints for the forseeable future, and after this Black Friday sale will be limiting all other products on the shop and removing many entirely. This hasn’t been an easy call to make, but it is necessary for our mental health at the moment.
