A few things worth knowing:

We've been quiet on the "what's actually happening behind the scenes" front lately, so here's a real update.

We're now working closely on incredible new products for early 2027!!! Stay tuned.

We also just wrapped Plants Over Plastics Collective, our Plastic Free July campaign with brands and charities we deeply respect (more on that in the carousel).

And our story made it into Forbes and Yahoo Finance this summer, thanks to journalist Esha Chhabra () for asking the right questions and telling it with so much care.

On top of that, we're printing packaging in a second language for the first time, because we're launching somewhere new very soon.

And Norfolk Island is full of family, team, and cameras this summer, so expect a lot more from the island in the months ahead.

Looking ahead: we're already planning our end of year collective, taking what we learned this July and building on it with brands you know and a few new ones.

15 years in, the biggest updates are still the ones that come from just showing up and doing the work. Thanks for being here for all of it.

Three things that show up uninvited, live rent-free, and somehow you've just accepted them as "how hair ties are."

They're not. They're what happens when a tie is made from stiff synthetic rubber that creases instead of flexing, wears thin until it snaps mid-workout, and cinches down tight enough to leave your scalp aching by mid-afternoon.

That sunny window trick? Try it right now.

Dr. Lisa Erdle from 5 Gyres broke down what's actually happening when you wear synthetic fabrics, especially the ones you sweat in. Those colorful specks of dust floating in the light aren't just dust. They're microfibers shedding from your clothes, and some end up in your lungs and even your nasal passageways.

Then there's what's on the fabric itself. Textiles carry 5,000 to 6,000 different chemicals for dyes, flame resistance, waterproofing. When you sweat and your pores open up, some of those chemicals can move from the fabric into your skin.

Bio-based doesn't automatically mean better.

Aidan from broke down what "feedstock" really means in our conversation for Plants Over Plastics Collective. It's not just what a material is made from, it's how it was grown, what it took from the land, and what happens to it after.

PLA is a great example. Made from corn and sugar cane, technically renewable, technically bio-based. But it still fragments into microplastics.

Real bio-based materials ask two questions: how was the feedstock grown (fertilizers, pesticides, deforestation, regenerative farming), and what does the end material actually do (home compostable, marine biodegradable, free of synthetics)?
