A returning customer recently asked me if I could reproduce a pair of favorite leather cuff restraints in recycled bike tube... the answer is undoubtedly yes.

Slick new bike tube wallet headed out the door this week. Mine is currently about 7 years old and going strong - best wallet I've ever had. A black linen lining gives this one an extra touch of classy 🖤

There's many steps in putting together the bike tube and waxed canvas tool rolls. But I've done it enough times now that I can fly through sewing one of these in just over an hour.

New year's resolution - finally finish this dopp kit prototype that's been bumping around in my mind and my shop for months! Bike tube and waxed canvas make the best partners. Both durable, and gorgeous together.

Custom ankle restraints in the spotlight. I've never listed these online as a regular product but it's something I get asked to make frequently. There's enough variation in folks' ankle sizes that it's better made custom, anyhow. For a client who loved their wrist cuffs and wanted more, I'm always happy to help.

This is my first winter back in Montreal after three glorious years on Vancouver Island. Three years of sparkling oceans, rainforest mist, green Januarys... Huge shout-out to and for hooking me up with this mouth-watering (maybe only for me) pile of used tubes, tires, gears and chains that will keep me supplied and makin' things to send out into the world. As life has changed these past weeks, many of my usual pick-up spots are closed or at least not so down with me picking through their recycling piles as they were pre-pandemic. Your bike scraps are keeping me in business, so thank you!!!

Our work combines our passions for eco-friendly design and traditional craftsmanship. Conceived with refined style and unparalleled durability, and handmade in Montreal, Canada.

Oxyd began as a way to join founder Kiri Skuce’s love for bicycles and sewing. After studying and working for several years in the field of costume design and production, Kiri was exploring new materials and fell in love with bicycle rubber as a unique, environmentally friendly alternative to leather. A daily commuter and long-distance cyclist, Kiri’s world was full of bikes and it was only natural to integrate them into her designs and craftsmanship.

Kiri’s vision was of a brand that focused on practical accessories, made locally and built durable to last years of use. At the same time, her past in costume design played a part in creating stylish, classy products.
