Well hey there! Long time no see.

I've been gone for a while, and I wanted to apologize. Life took over and I somehow ended up in grad school; and while it has been an awesome experience so far, I need more crafting in my life.

I can't come back full-time right now, but I have set myself a goal for 2024 to ramp up my leathercrafting, develop a bit of a product line, and make the odd custom piece by request! Thanks for staying subscribed to my page, despite my relative inactivity.

Howdy folks! Sorry it's been a while since my last post! I am an archaeologist by trade and have been busy prepping for the 2022 field season while working on customer orders; with not much time to focus on self-directed projects.

HOWEVER I have been on a tote craze and just made this awesome full-sized tote with Sepici Tanneries 4-5oz Spade Red. I actually really love this leather and it was a pleasure to build a bag with. Robust but not too rigid, burnished very well, stamped BEAUTIFULLY (look at that buffalo).

While I am excited to get back into the field with archaeology, I am also pretty excited to have a day off to focus back on crafting!

My is made up of a pocket knife and a thing of lip balm. This is for when I need to open a box, cut some string, save a sea turtle from the ever increasing quantities of plastic in our oceans, or have chapped lips.

Conveniently small, holds your knife in snug, and makes sure you're ready to slather some beeswax on your lips anytime.

Are you ready for camping season? I know I am!

Today on the bench I have a custom axehead sheath ready to be shipped off to Bellville! Axeheads sheaths are an often overlooked and important part of your kit because they help keep your axe sharp and your fingers attached when in the canoe.

Why you're swinging an axe around on a canoe is a different story, however.

Stuff I am trying on the bench this week:

1. A new tote bag design that I drew up in illustrator and then totally changed when I started cutting material. I guess designs can be good in theory, but working it out practically means sometimes things have to change.👜

2. Not trying to overcomplicate things. 🤷‍♂️

3. Dying some natural veg tan leather with the lovely English Bridle pro-dye because I love the English Bridle/lighter tan look. 🐴
