Eco Gaia is built on the idea that sustainability lives in everyday choices—what we buy, how we live, what we support.

Being present at this week’s Evening of Recognition by Sustainable Waterloo Region was an opportunity to witness how that same intention is being carried forward at a broader level—through businesses and organizations doing the work in practice.

The evening opened with prayer, smudging, and song by Clarence Cachagee—bringing a sense of grounding and respect to the space.


Thank you to Sustainable Waterloo Region for creating space to recognize this progress, and to Tova Davidson for the continued leadership behind it.

The awards themselves—crafted from reclaimed materials—reflected the values being honored, brought to life through and .

Our Journey

EcoGaia didn’t start from a trend.

It started when I began questioning what I was putting on my skin—and realized I couldn’t fully trust the answers I was finding.

Around 2010, I started looking deeper into ingredients—checking them against the EWG database, trying to understand what was actually inside the products I was using. That process led me into a vegan, cruelty-free lifestyle—and a bigger question: what am I actually supporting when I buy something?

*There’s Lead in Your Lipstick* by Gill Deacon shifted everything. It exposed the gap between marketing and reality.

In 2012, my Mama and I created Wellness Oasis—a small, intentional space for non-toxic, ethical products. We kept it alive quietly, alongside full-time work.

In 2020, EcoGaia took shape.

Reading *The Vanishing Face of Gaia* reframed something deeply: we are not separate from ecological systems—we shape them.

At the same time, my mother left accounting and moved into holistic healing—first equine therapy, then aromatherapy massage.

By 2021, as I completed my Master’s in Business and Sustainability, both of our paths aligned.

I studied lifecycle thinking, cradle-to-cradle, and sustainability frameworks—learning how to evaluate what is truly sustainable, beyond claims.

Wellness Oasis evolved into O’Well Wellness Collective.

Today, I continue curating botanical, non-toxic, cruelty-free products—and expanding into apparel.

That journey hasn’t been easy.

15+ years of searching for truly aligned options—vegan, ethical, bio-based. Especially shoes… 🥲

Testing, questioning, refining.

This is what I share here: not perfection, but process.

The challenges of being a conscious consumer—and the solutions that do exist.

I continue my professional career because I love it. It’s where I apply my knowledge and support people directly.

EcoGaia is where that work becomes expression.

To one day build a small eco-community that feels like a destination—something between nature, sanctuary, and a new kind of world.

A vision I’m shaping—quietly, intentionally, step by step.
