Here are 5 simple habits that can protect your eyes for years to come:

1️⃣ Get a comprehensive eye exam every 2years—or more frequently if you’re over 65, a child, have other eye conditions, or recommended more frequently by your optometrist
2️⃣ The 20-20-20 rule—every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds
3️⃣ Sunglasses with UV protection—especially in the Okanagan sun☀️
4️⃣ Eat eye-healthy foods like cooked dark leafy greens, salmon, and orange peppers
5️⃣ Never ignore changes in your vision—early detection matters

How amazing is this video?! 👁️✨

This close-up view of the iris muscles in action is so fascinating! The human eye is truly incredible and optometry is such a cool profession. Watching the eye respond and adapt in real time is a reminder of just how complex and beautiful our vision system really is.

Your Optometrist can learn so much by looking into your eyes and can often detect and monitor a wide range of eye and health conditions during a routine eye exam.

A reminder that routine eye exams are about so much more than just updating your glasses prescription 👓❤️
