T.O.C. Legends Fashion Design CUSTOM ORDERS: WEDDING DRESSES, CEREMONY, JACKETS, ALL WITH A TOUCH OF CULTURE

The Textile Museum of Canada commissioned two digital garments for Always in Fashion — a project working directly with named Indigenous designers. First piece in the show: KLASLA "Peace Dancer" by Himikalas Pamela Baker (Tlingit/Haida/Squamish).

Her design is a contemporary rendition of a Chilkat blanket — traditionally a textile carrying clan identity or a family story. Pamela's version functions as a personal Chilkat, representing her family lineage: herself, her two sons, two grandchildren.

Starting from her sketches, my job was to bring the garment into 3D — Marvelous Designer for the patterns and fabric simulation, ZBrush for the body sculpt, Cinema 4D for assembly, OctaneRender for the final pass. With Zacoya Johnny-Sinclair, a Toronto-based Indigenous model whose face the digital character carries.

The finished piece plays on a screen inside the exhibition.

A real thank you to Amber-Dawn Bear Robe, who curated the exhibition and backed this workflow when it was still purely experimental — before any of us could see how it would turn out. That belief in art and craft, and the trust to support something with an uncertain outcome, is rare. She gave me the room to find it.

None of this happens without Ignazio Nicastro either — he produced it from the first call to final delivery, holding the artists, the curator, the museum, and me all together. The glue of the whole collaboration, and the best kind of person to build something like this with.

I LOVE NATIVE FASHION — and the whole world should too. ✨🪶🌎

This week at reminded me once again how powerful Indigenous fashion truly is. The artistry, craftsmanship, storytelling, and vision from so many Native designers continues to inspire me deeply. Seeing our cultures represented through couture, innovation, textiles, movement, and contemporary design was something truly special.

A huge thank you to .pbread for producing such a beautiful and intimate showcase through A Taste of Native Fashion. Thank you for creating space to uplift Indigenous designers and allow the details, creativity, and spirit behind each collection to truly be seen and celebrated.

To all the incredible designers featured alongside me , , , .okuma — thank you for sharing your artistry, your vision, and your stories. It’s an honor to stand beside so many talented Indigenous creatives who continue to elevate Native fashion on a global stage.

Thank you to all the backstage teams, models, stylists, hair and makeup artists, photographers, videographers, assistants, and organizers who brought these productions to life. It takes an entire community to create these moments, and your hard work and passion never go unnoticed.

Special thank you to for hosting such an inspiring gathering, and a heartfelt thank you to from for the continued support, the article features, and for mentioning me in your new book. Your support for Indigenous fashion and designers means so much to our community.

I’m leaving Santa Fe feeling inspired, energized, and already working on extending my collection for a larger summer showcase. So many exciting ideas are coming next — and I can’t wait to share them with you all. 🖤✨
