Happy July, everyone! It’s a busy time of year 😁
I’m happy to announce July’s charity is Disability Alliance BC in honour of Disability Pride Month. In order to commemorate the Disability Rights movement and work against ableism and stigma, we celebrate this important month every year!
We want everyone to know they are welcome here. You may remember our old post back from when we were renovating; to make zero-waste living accessible for everyone, and that means everyone, we installed an automatic push-button door opener right away to ensure no is left out or discriminated against.
Now, just a quick ‘happy Plastic-Free July!’ as well. Some time mid-month, we will be giving away a box of plastic-free, local goodies to one lucky person! We will let you know more soon, so watch out for a post about what is in it and how to enter.
We are also giving out those awesome net market bags from ALL MONTH to anyone who spends $75 or more in one purchase before tax!

that you don’t have to do ALL the things to make a difference? Sometimes it can seem as though you’re not doing enough, but trust me, every little bit helps and it doesn’t have to be . I’ve always felt that tackling the small actions give us confidence and catapult us to the next level. Once you have the small things down pat, you feel empowered to take on more. That’s how my journey has been anyway. I think back to the days when I would grab plastic produce bags without a 2nd thought and it literally makes me shudder.
