Season 1 of the Smoko Podcast: is officially wrapped! Thank you to all our guests who sat down and took a Smoko. It was an honour speaking with you, listening to your stories, and learning about your world!
 
The Smoko Podcast is a show that highlights the stories of women working in non-traditional roles. The scoundrels working in STEM, Trades, and AG.

Our show’s inception came from the feeling of a lack of representation of storytelling in industrial settings and jobs. Of feeling like our voices weren’t being showcased as loud as they should be. So we cranked up the volume.
 
We sat down, talked to friends new and old, and started taking Smokos in which our guests could go wherever they’d like. The outcome is a show with a little bit of everything. Ranchers, climate scientists, iron workers, carpenters, elk-conservationists, foresters, marine biologists, welders, boat-builders, miners, engineers of all types, geologists, electricians, chemists, builders, astronomers, and physicists. Letting you learn everything from tig welding to supernovas.
 
It’s been an incredible honour hosting this show and thank you again to all guests and listeners ❤️

Season 1 of the Smoko Podcast: wrapped up for the holidays! Thank you to all our guests who sat down and took a Smoko. It was an honour speaking with you, listening to your stories, and learning about your world!
 
And if you’re reading this, thinking “Peggy Workwear has a podcast!?” that’s totally fair. The Smoko Podcast is a show that highlights the stories of women working in non-traditional roles. The scoundrels working in STEM, Trades, and AG.

Our show’s inception came from the feeling of a lack of representation of storytelling in industrial settings and jobs. Of feeling like our voices weren’t being showcased as loud as they should be. So we cranked up the volume.
 
We sat down, talked to friends new and old, and started taking Smokos in which our guests could go wherever they’d like. The outcome is a show with a little bit of everything. Ranchers, climate scientists, iron workers, carpenters, elk-conservationists, foresters, marine biologists, welders, boat-builders, miners, engineers of all types, geologists, electricians, chemists, builders, astronomers, and physicists. We also get to sit down with the organization on the front lines, those fighting for representation of women and gender diverse people working in non-traditional roles. We get to learn about their programs, research, and structures in place which have enabled equity in these spaces.

The Smoko Podcast: that’s a wrap on Season 1. Thank you to all our guests who sat down and took a Smoko. It was an honour speaking with you, listening to your stories, learning about your world and acting as a broadcaster for your joy, accomplishments, and talents.
 
And if you’re reading this, thinking “Peggy Workwear has a podcast!?” that’s totally fair and on us. We’ve been quietly working on a rebrand and gearing up for Season 2. We have some wonderful people scheduled to come on and can’t wait to meet the rest of Season 2’s roster. Over the next little while, we’ll go down memory lane and highlight the women of Season 1. Please feel free to tune in and take a Smoko with us!
