Did you know that we carry hand-tied flies?

Gary Giese had been fly tying since 1966. At first, he started because he couldn’t purchase the required patterns and hook sizes, but he also needed a hobby during the winter. Today, if he had to choose his favourite, it would hands down be the classic Royal Coachman.

It’s a common misconception that you need to spend a fortune on equipment to be fly fishing. According to Gary, beginners need very little to get started. With just a willow pole, a piece of line, and a fly, you can catch trout or grayling in any stream.

Flies can be used for pike, pickerel, trout, grayling, mountain whitefish, and lake whites—really, all our game fish.

There are so many great spots for fly fishing in the area, and we've got so many beautiful flies to choose from!
