You might have discovered us via our fur jewelry. You may have learned about me from my textile work or maybe it’s my earth pigment and botanical collections that drew you.

Either way, every product line or artistic expression is a facet of me, the artist and every pair of earrings, tapestry, or painting is how I communicate my relationship to place.

As a Design House, we use material language to connect you with where you are through our relationship to these places.

Yes, there are several different product lines but the through line that connects them all is me, Vanessa.

Since closing our tiny storefront, we’ve refined the positioning of the Vanessa Aegirsdottir brand. We are no longer a concept boutique limited by the constraints of our retail store which was 120 square feet. We are now a Design House with “departments” if you will. Fur jewelry, textiles, earth pigments and botanical inks/dyes.

This pivot has given me the room to explore the fullness of who I am as an artist which allows me to create according to seasons; those of nature and those of life.

I am a multidimensional human and my work is the same. Varied, interesting, and special. Also, it’s not for everyone. And that’s the way I like it.

You didn’t hear this from me, but most people don’t actually want more stuff.

They want objects that make them feel more like themselves.

I think that’s part of why so many people feel disconnected from the things they buy now.

Most products are designed for speed:
fast manufacturing
fast trend cycles
fast replacement
fast dopamine

But the objects people keep for decades usually carry something else:
memory
materiality
story
weight
place
craftsmanship
association

They become part of a person’s identity over time.

Not because they were “luxury.”
Not because they were viral.
Not because everyone else owned them.

Because they meant something.

That’s the kind of work I’m interested in making.

The trip of a lifetime. I went with my best friend Rebecca who has young onset Alzheimer’s, her two adult daughters, and her adult niece to Costa Rica for a week. It was luxurious and so special. A lot of conversations, laughter, some tears and a lot of photos.

This week’s private offering is a little more playful than usual.

A set of sculptural acrylic bangles inspired by the unapologetic maximalism of Iris Apfel; bold without feeling loud, and surprisingly easy to wear.

The kind of piece that makes even the simplest outfit feel intentional.

These bangles aren’t publicly listed online and become accessible only once selections reach $300.

Just a quieter layer of the collecting experience for those building collections more intentionally.

The private offering rotates weekly.

This one is available until Sunday at midnight.

On August 11, 2026, all of your fur products could be unlisted and that would be bad for business.

I’m offering a very limited number of clients the opportunity to work with me to create a super simple, totally functional Shopify store NOW so that you’re established and ready to roll when the ban hits.

No panic, just planning.

If you’re a maker who is working with fur; vintage or virgin wild/farmed furs, I can help.

I’ve operated a successful Shopify site with over 25,000 items sold. Owning your platform = security. Building your business on borrowed land = risk.

Let’s minimize some of your risk and get your Shopify store up and running before the ban hits.

Spots are limited so apply now.

Toquilla straw hats are ready for their season!

These straw hats are handwoven in Ecuador’s and we shape and style them for you! They have a lambskin sweatband hand sewn inside and are minimally embellished with simple lacing.

I wear mine all the time, especially on a hot day when I don’t want to do my hair.

We make customs in our seasonal shop in Skagway and these ones are all Ready To Wear.

Which one you gonna pick??

I’m so obsessed with these metallic watercolours! This is a new design in a series of five that I will be producing for our summer season.

I had to test out the concept on these adorable postcards even though I knew the scale was a bit on the small side.

This is the fireweed motif. I also have a Sitka spruce version, wild iris (inspired by the fields of them in Dyea AK - IYKYK), wild rose, and lupine.

I don’t have the right colours with me to test them all but I’ll probably do them anyway in wonky colours. Purple evergreens, anyone?? lol

Anyway, obsessed with this first one. More to come, I guess.

I saw the light in my studio the other morning and it stopped me in my tracks. The morning sunshine in this room is often this dramatic especially in the spring and summer.

I loved the way it danced across the surface of this painting, No.4 in my Bound series. The matte, the shine, the grit. It is all so beautiful and it’s made with earth pigment oil paint that I made with locally foraged soil.

These works tell the story of place, of light and shadow, of movement and depth. I’m obsessed with these works and can’t wait to get them into frames!!
