Receiving your photos from your big day is the greatest compliment. The work we do is so personal to us, so it is tremendously meaningful when we get to see the culmination of the time spent with your gown. Even if you don't want it shared on our pages, just getting to look at them in the studio always makes our day.

This May marks 7 years since my mother passed away. Much of who I am was shaped by the lessons she gave me. Everything from the basics of sewing, the trust she put in me, and the confidence I have in myself. When I was young, she didn't stop me from using the first sewing machine that my father brought home. I think my patience comes from the way she carefully taught me how to use it. She also taught me to see the beauty in everything. One of our brides left a comment that really touched me. She said,

"Clean, professional, excellent quality work. She explains what you need, and she gets excited to see you in your dress/gown. Not only do you feel good in your dress, but you literally feel like a million bucks leaving her,"

which left me thinking about my mom. My work is an extension of her legacy, and I am so proud to be my mother's daughter. I hope that everyone can see the beauty all around them today.

One of the most common questions we get is, "When should I book my first appointment for wedding dress alterations?" The short answer is that it is never too early or too late!

The typical ideal range for alterations is 5 to 6 months ahead of the wedding, and at least a year in advance for completely custom dresses. Please note that this is just the best time to start alterations, but we always leave the final fitting and pick up as close to the wedding date as possible to ensure the best fit.

These time frames allow us the most opportunity explore all of your options, have you see different looks before committing to a final course of action, and have as much peace of mind as possible throughout the entire experience. It also allows us to plan for any potential changes to your body and make sure you have a perfect fit on your big day.

We also know that sometimes life does not allow us to plan so far in advance, and we are no strangers to working with much shorter time frames as well! Never hesitate to reach out if you need our help in a pinch.

This was one of my favourite gowns of last season! Our bride looked absolutely gorgeous and it is a great example of a very important principle we like to share with everyone who works with us.

Major alterations to a dress will impact the design beyond the area we focus on. In this case, resizing the bust resulted in the strap placement shifting as well. Never let that stop you from choosing the dress you love, as we can apply all of our decades of experience to work on it and make it the dress of your dreams. It just never hurts to be as informed as possible and knowing this can help guide your dress selection process.
