HOLLOW WATER ALL STARS

The Wanipigow School’s varsity boys’ basketball team, from the Hollow Water First Nation, had a very successful and unprecedented season.

The Stingers advanced to the finals of the Provincial “A” Championships, where they came up just short against the team from Glenboro.

Two members of the Wanipigow squad were named tournament all-stars!

Drake Boulette and Brodi Wood are both in grade 12. They are now taking part in Basketball Manitoba’s All-Star Weekend in Winnipeg.

According to Wanipigow School principal Sonya Bushie, this is a first in the history of the school. Everyone is exceedingly proud of the entire team.

The Southern Chiefs’ Organization is also thrilled to celebrate Drake, Brodi, and the Wanipigow Stingers Varsity team.

*Call for basketball coaches and players alike*

During the remainder of the school year,

Elevate EV
will be conducting basketball camps throughout various reservations within Northern Manitoba. Warlake, Crosslake, Splitlake, and possibly Churchill to name a few. 📍📍📍

In order to attend these sessions, the team will have to travel via vehicles and train to these communities. During the sessions a keynote will be placed on introductory to the Ev trainers and their personal journey throughout sport and wellness. The basics of basketball will then be covered as will as specified skills. 🆙

This a paid opportunity with accommodations being covered. More details to follow.
