Hello Everyone,

Please bear with us while we address the recent posts.

We are aware that, yet again, there is some posts going around regarding IvyQuinn in relation the first Beautifully Disturbed market held in August 2024.

These posts have been made by an individual Erin Macintosh that we had attempted to partner up with for our first show. This situation has been come up multiple times by this individual throughout the last 3 years and while we made an initial statement regarding the situation, this individual is now including other businesses that did not have any relation to this show. We have decided it is time to make an official statement after years of harassment.

We unfortunately weren't made aware that these accusations were being shared again until fellow supporters set us the posts, as we are blocked by Erin (Aines oddities) and Cupcake Catacomb that is now being involved. Once we were made aware, we worked to gather the details you will find below that will show with clear detail that these are false.

Firstly, Erin has said that cupcake, phantom wolf creations and Artful Eye Photography were involved in the first beautifully disturbed market which they were not. As a cohost of the market, Erin should be aware that they were not co-organizers at all. They were only present as a vendor at this time. The partnership with cupcake/phantom only began once the decision to no longer work with Erin was made after the initial market.

Secondly, Erin has stated that she was let go the night before the market which is also false. There was a plan to discuss our concerns with Erin regarding the inability to plan, organize and help set up the market space. During the planning and advertising portion of the market, Erin was unavailable for multiple meetings, did not participate in advertising, did not assist in vendor selection which lead her to not be privy to many important decisions regarding planning a market. We had made many attempts to work around her schedule and accommodate her needs, however, it was still unsuccessful. This lead us to make the decision to not partner with her in the future. This was a decision made solely by IvyQuinn and in no way involved Cupcake Catacomb, Phantom Creations or Artful eye, as previously stated they were only vendors.

Lastly and most importantly we would like to address the concern regarding the donations to Our Own Health Centre.

When we first partnered with Erin she had requested that a portion of the proceeds were to go to Our Own Health Centre as we always choose a charity for each event to donate to. She had informed us that she had a working relationship with them and had already organized items for their large gala so she would remain the person in charge regarding any communications.

On the day of the event, the organization had provided us with some signage for the event. As Erin had a working relationship with them, there was a decision made that Erin would be responsible for returning the signage and providing them with the donation.

As she stated to us that she had a successful working relationship with them, we as IvyQuinn trusted that she would be able to return the signage and ensuring they received the donation we raised. Previously when we had chosen a good cause to donate to, we didn't do much signage or advertising for this as it was always about giving back and not recognition. We believed that since it was stated multiple times that Erin had a successful working relationship with them, we trusted her to get these items to them. We can admit that we should've followed up to ensure this was done appropriately and requested a proof of donation. However, this was not something we had needed to request previously. We have learned from this and going forward from this event have worked with Whisker Warriors many times. If you would like to confirm that they have never had these concerns regarding our donations, you are welcome to reach out to them directly. We still continue to work with this non profit organization today.

Erin has also stated that she did not receive her portion of the event profits which is also incorrect. Initially, when these posts and accusations started, we attempted to take a more diplomatic stance and share our side of the story on our IvyQuinn page. We are not a business that participates in slander and airing grievances and issues on online platforms and instead likes to address directly with those that are involved. However, as this individual has blocked us and continues to bring this up in attempt to slander our business, we feel that it is now time to present the details of the situation for the official last time. We felt it was even more important that we address this officially and clearly as they are attempting to bring in other businesses and we are no longer going to address this going forward after today.

Ivyquinn has always been public and does not feel its a good business practice to block anyone who has concerns regarding our business. We pride ourselves on being transparent and work to address all concerns that come to us. As a small business and event organizer we understand that there will be times that mistake are made, however, we will always continue to do what we can to address and rectify them as soon as possible. As stated previously, we do not believe in slandering any business no matter the size. We will not participate in bringing concerns to social media unless we feel it is necessary and we can only control on how we navigate these concerns and not what other businesses may decide to do.

Please find below the screenshots of all E-transfers that were provided to Erin throughout the planning phase. She had requested that these be sent to her during this time as she required some assistance with funds. We unfortunately do not have evidence of the donation as this was done in cash from the 50/50 done that night. As stated previously, we did not ask for a receipt as we had thought we could trust her at this time.

We want to thank everyone that continues to support IvyQuinn and we appreciate you. We understand that once you have taken the time to read this and evaluate the situation it will be up to you whether you choose to believe our side of the story.

Hello everyone,

We want to address the concerns that have been raised regarding one of our fellow organizers and sponsor.

Since this information was brought forward to us, we began diligently working as a team to address these concerns and work towards appropriate actions to take.

Situations like these require careful consideration to ensure they are handled fairly and responsibly.

After discussion with both individuals it was decided that they will be required for them part ways as their actions do not align with our community goals for Winnipeg Horror Con.

At Winnipeg Horror Con, we are committed to fostering a community built on respect, inclusivity, diversity, and safety. Our Code of Conduct is provided to our organizers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and is publicly available for all attendees. We expect everyone involved with our events to uphold these standards. Individuals or organizations whose actions are inconsistent with these values may no longer be invited to participate.

The cosplay, horror, and convention communities are made up of people from many different backgrounds and identities. We want everyone who attends our events to feel welcome, respected, and safe, and we remain committed to creating an environment where that is the standard.

We apologize that we were not able to communicate our actions sooner, and we appreciate everyone's patience while we worked through this process. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address the situation thoughtfully and take the actions we felt were necessary.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]

We hope the community will give us the opportunity to rebuild your trust by allowing us to show, through our actions, our commitment to putting on a safe, welcoming, and memorable event for everyone.
