ATTENTION SHOPPERS 🛍️

We interrupt your beautiful (and hopefully relaxing) Labour Day Long Weekend with some pretty big announcements 👇

🧱 Starting Sept. 6, will be taking over We Heart Winnipeg’s retail space on the main floor, with their Grand (Re)Opening scheduled for Friday, Sept. 12. For all local LEGO enthusiasts (and even the casual builder), it’s a space you’ll definitely wanna check out!

❤️ As for , not to worry – they’re not going far! Starting Sept. 2, they’ll officially take over the coffee shop with a brand new retail + coffee bar concept called DRIP by We Heart Winnipeg.

In addition to a curated selection of their classic clothing collections and accessories, they’ll continue introducing new designs and rolling out new product lines (think housewares, greeting cards and a whole lot more!) alongside tasty treats from local bakers and your daily caffeine fix ☕️

They’ll also continue to operate Handpressed by We Heart Winnipeg on the second floor, allowing you to Build Your Own Shirt in the colour, size and design of your choice. While hours will be more limited, the service will soon be available online and you’ll be able to place (and pick up) your orders at DRIP!

As for the other makers we had in the shop, we have some projects in the works and will continue working with some of them in one capacity or another. Stay tuned and be sure to follow for more!

Oh, and we almost forgot to mention that in addition to .ca, and staying put, we’ll have three new businesses moving in on the second floor in the very near future. So be sure to follow us too, and stay tuned 😉

With all of those updates – and more to come – we just want to say once again how grateful we are to all of you 💕Although East Kildonan in general (and Watt Street in particular) may not traditionally be known for shopping and retail, we can say firsthand that it should be.

From the businesses in our building and the makers on our shelves to the customers from across the city and the community in our own backyard, we can honestly say there’s nowhere we’d rather be.

☁️ .itscottoncandy: I’m a youth entrepreneur that started my own cotton candy business in 2022 and recently a high school graduate. I do Local markets and bulk party orders with different flavors and sizes. In addition, I can make custom lables for them. This also has expanded in a variety of vinyl decals that can be used anywhere customers have requested!

✨ : Handmade jewelry and accessories, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, keychains and buttons. Beads and charms sourced from thrift stores and repurposed jewelry. I have been making and selling jewelry as well as designing accessories for almost ten years and selling at markets for a 3rd year in a row!

🍃 .by.kaye: Kaye Gaudreau is a Filipino Canadian science and math teacher, artist, and founder of Papél by Kaye, based in Winnipeg. What began with traditional paper crafting—wedding invitations, party favours, and handmade decorations—has grown into a vibrant practice of pop culture-inspired art, including framed paper mosaic pixel pieces. Today, Kaye focuses on sustainability by upcycling materials destined for landfills or recycling plants, transforming them into notebooks, magnets, and other paper goods that give waste a second life.

: I am a self taught quilter and was inspired to make Tshirts to showcase a few series of quilt patches that is playing with colour and skill. My quilted tees for kids are fun and I also do custom quilts, quilted shoes and more. 

: I am a Metis woman who began painting during the pandemic (like everyone else 🤣). I quickly became addicted and found it such a calming hobby. In the dot mandalas community, we say if it doesn’t move you can paint it. And so I do 😊

: Liz Cooper is a Winnipeg-based visual artist and aerial circus arts instructor. Her paintings and beadwork jewelry are inspired by the beauty of the natural world and astronomy.

I am a Two-Spirit Ojibway bead artist proudly from Wasauksing First Nation. My work is rooted in tradition, cultural storytelling, and the expression of my Two-Spirit identity. I specialize in handcrafted beaded earrings ranging from classic hoops to intricate porcupine quill designs, each piece is created with intention and care reflecting the energy and good medicine I bring to my beadwork. I believe the energy I carry while creating is woven into each bead, making every piece unique and meaningful. My designs often feature vibrant rainbows and bright colors, a celebration of Two-Spirit identity and a reminder that we are all beautiful and unique in our own ways. All of my creations are gender-free and can be worn by anyone, embracing the spirit of inclusivity.
